European Microfinance Week
Sachin Vankalas, LuxFLAG General Manager will moderate a panel discussion at the European Microfinance Week on Thursday 21st November 2019 from 14:00 at the Room Chapelle. The panel discussion topic will focus on : Investors as partners or adversaries? Creating efficiencies through collaboration.
Investors generally do their own origination, due diligence and portfolio management. Larger MFIs are faced with sometimes up to 50 different lenders and a similar amount of information requests and due diligence visits. Is that in the interest of the client? Do we reach scale? How can microfinance investors jointly finance larger financial institutions? Is there space for more syndications, club deals, or the use of online platforms like Plumseeds? In this session, leading MIVs, a DFI and a bank will discuss and try to answer all these questions.
