LuxFLAG Breakfast Seminar with UN Environment
LuxFLAG organised a breakfast seminar hosted by the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs on 6 December. Florian Eisele, Luxembourg Focal Point of UN Environment and Global Communications Coordinator at UN-REDD Programme, presented insights on how to finance sustainable land use with the aim to reduce deforestation, deliver on the Paris Agreement and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. Florian enlighted how the land use sector has the largest untapped climate change mitigation potential, the multiple benefits of forest protection and innovative models for financing sustainable land use. Marc Bichler, Ambassador-at-large for Human Rights and Climate Change at the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, gave an overview of recent COP23 developments and Luxembourg's contributions in Climate Finance. 60 participants attended the event.
